Oman Climate Week 2026 will bring together global leaders, scientists, and innovators as the Environment Authority announced the second edition will be held from September 14 to 16, 2026 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the theme “Living in a Sustainable World.”

A National and Regional Platform for Climate Action

Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, addressed a media conference in Muscat highlighting the urgency of gathering global experts to confront the environmental challenges facing the world today — from rising temperatures and melting ice caps to increasing water levels and oxygen depletion in ocean waters.

Dr Al Amri emphasized that Oman Climate Week serves as a national and regional platform for exploring effective solutions to diverse environmental issues, strengthening international cooperation, and ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

The GreenX Exhibition

Amr bin Abdullah Baaboud, Chief Executive Officer of Arabian Research Bureau (ARB), outlined the key features of the upcoming edition, including the launch of the GreenX Exhibition — an innovative platform designed to promote environmental sustainability and green economy principles within the business sector.

The exhibition is a dedicated showcase for the circular economy, featuring recycling and waste management solutions, clean energy technologies, water reuse systems, and biodiversity conservation tools. It connects solution providers, businesses, investors, and government entities to facilitate real engagement, partnerships, and project development.

Ambitious Goals and International Participation

The event is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants from regional and international organisations and countries worldwide, with over 200 speakers from Oman and abroad and more than 50 dialogue sessions covering a wide range of environmental and climate topics.

The core goals of Oman Climate Week 2026 include fostering climate action, facilitating regional cooperation, driving local and regional business, supporting the adoption and scaling of solutions, and encouraging community engagement.

Organised by the Environment Authority in collaboration with the Arabian Research Bureau (ARB), and coordinated with regional and international organisations, government agencies, academic institutions, research centres, universities and colleges, the event aims to foster collective action and innovation in addressing pressing environmental challenges.

Scientific Conferences and Training Programs

The week will feature scientific conferences with international working papers expected to be published for the first time, panel discussions with global climate experts and policymakers, workshops on sustainable technologies and practices, and training programs for capacity building across sectors.

Many international working papers are expected to be published during the event, contributing to the global body of knowledge on climate science and sustainability.
