Oman Climate Week 2025, the inaugural edition of the Sultanate’s landmark environmental gathering, drew participation from 80 countries and featured more than 150 speakers from around the world. Oman Climate Week 2025 established itself as a significant environmental platform in the region, bringing together government officials, climate scientists, industry leaders, and civil society representatives.

A Landmark Debut

The first edition demonstrated Oman’s growing role as a convener of international environmental dialogue. The event aimed to address pressing climate challenges and explore investment opportunities in the environmental sector, creating a bridge between scientific knowledge and practical implementation across the Gulf and broader MENA region.

Delegates from 80 nations engaged in productive exchanges covering topics from renewable energy and carbon markets to biodiversity conservation, water security, and circular economy innovations.

High-Level Strategic Conference

At the heart of Oman Climate Week 2025 was a high-level strategic conference that brought together senior officials and climate experts to discuss national and regional climate priorities. The conference sessions covered topics ranging from renewable energy transition and carbon capture technologies to biodiversity conservation and coastal resilience.

Panel discussions featured ministers, CEOs, and leading academics who shared insights on accelerating the clean energy transition while maintaining economic competitiveness in hydrocarbon-dependent economies.

Exhibition and Innovation

An environmental technology exhibition showcased the latest innovations in green technology, providing a platform for companies and startups to present their solutions to a global audience. The exhibition attracted significant interest from investors and government procurement agencies seeking sustainable alternatives for energy, water, waste management, and transportation.

Workshops and Field Visits

Practical workshops offered participants hands-on experience with sustainable technologies and methodologies, including carbon footprint assessment, environmental impact analysis, and green building design. Field visits to key environmental sites across Oman provided real-world context for the challenges and solutions discussed during the conference sessions.

Participants visited nature reserves, renewable energy installations, and water treatment facilities, gaining firsthand insight into Oman’s environmental management practices.

Focus on Inclusion and Sustainability

Oman Climate Week 2025 placed particular emphasis on innovation, women’s participation in climate action, and the development of sustainable solutions. A dedicated women’s leadership forum explored the role of women in driving environmental change across the Middle East. Youth engagement programs brought students from Omani universities into direct dialogue with international experts.

These priorities reflect Oman’s commitment to the Paris Agreement and Oman Vision 2040, which positions environmental sustainability as a cornerstone of national development. The success of Oman Climate Week 2025 laid the groundwork for the expanded second edition planned for September 2026.
